BTS Wins at 52nd AMA Awards

The Kings of K-pop are officially back on their global throne. On May 25, 2026, BTS sent shockwaves through the music industry by winning the highly coveted Artist of the Year award at the 52nd American Music Awards. Held live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, this marks the group’s second time taking home the night’s grand prize, following their historic 2021 victory.

Defeating massive global heavyweights like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, and Bad Bunny, the septet proved their unmatched star power remains absolutely bulletproof. This victory carries extra emotional weight for both the group and fans, serving as their first major U.S. awards show appearance in four years following the successful completion of their mandatory military service. The award ceremony coincided beautifully with the U.S. leg of the BTS ARIRANG world tour.

Accepting the trophy from legendary rapper Busta Rhymes, leader RM delivered a heartfelt speech that took ARMY’s excitement to another level, proving the unbreakable bond between the group and their global fandom. The group also took home the Song of the Summer award for their smash hit, “SWIM.” Adding to the night’s unforgettable moments, BTS opened the ceremony with a high-octane performance of “Hooligan” and even presented the Best Female R&B Artist to SZA.
