The last week of August brought some good news as three free agent K-Pop artists signed with new agencies!
On August 29, 2019, B.A.P’s Yoo Youngjae signed on with Dmost Entertainment. The signing comes after he released his solo debut album, Fancy, on April 19, 2019. For his Fancy release, which included the lead single “Another Night,” Youngjae was under his own label, J WORLD Entertainment. However, Dmost will now be Youngjae’s home.
“We are so thankful toward Youngjae for his decision to work with DMOST, trusting in our company,” Dmost Entertainment said in a statement. “We will not withhold any of your fullest support in Youngjae’s musical activities so that he can unfold his abilities to his heart’s content. We ask for your abundant expectations and encouragements toward Youngjae’s new beginning as a solo artist.”
Along with the signing, Youngjae revealed he is currently working on his second solo album.
“I am happy to work with good people and I am excited to be able to show more to fans and the public,” Youngjae said on Instagram. “Please wait for your next album. Ah! Beyond the album, I can tell you good news, so look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, former KARA member Park Gyuri signed with TheCNT Global as an actress. Prior to debuting with KARA in 2007, Gyuri was a child actress.
In July 2019, the former girl group singer became a free agent when her exclusive contract with Dain Entertainment ended. She signed with Dain Entertainment following the expiration of her DSP Entertainment contract in 2016.
TheCNT Global said, “We are honored to work with actress Park Gyuri. We will be working hard so that she will promote and work through different activities. Please keep an eye out for this talented actress.”
Finally, Melody Day’s Yeo Eun signed with SG Made on August 20, 2019.
“We recently signed an exclusive contract with Yeo Eun,” SG Made said. “We promise to provide our fullest support so that Yeo Eun, who previously garnered attention as the main vocalist of Melody Day as well as through her various OSTs, can display her talents and vocals in numerous fields.”
While under the label, Yeo Eun plans to promote as a solo artist. She has an album planned for September.
