Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was gunned down Friday July 8, 2022 while campaigning in the city of Nara. The longest running Japanese prime minister (2006-2007; 2012-2020) was 67-years old. Abe, who was campaigning for political candidate Kei Sato, was giving a speech at the time of the shooting.
